essential part of Chinese culture, for thousands of years, not put in law, but observed by a lot of people, major traditional Chinese holidays, Chinese New Year Eve, Mourning Day, Dragon Boat Festival,
Mid-Autumn Festival and so on.
2:What will people do in these festivals
Chinese New Year Eve:cleaning the house,fireworks, whole family together, watching the Spring Festival Gala.
Mourning Day:visiting, cleaning, hold a memorial ceremony for forefathers, pay respects to forefathers at his tomb
Dragon Boat Festival:dragon boat racing,eating rice dumpling,commemorating the ancient poet Qu Yuan
Mid-Autumn Festival:eating mooncake, family union meal, admire the full moon

western festivals are more and more popular, young people interest in western festivals, the government set legislation to protect the Chinese traditional festivals

People in China even in some other eastern Asia countries will do some special things in these festivals. However, as China is more international, the western festivals are more and more popular, some of the Chinese traditional festivals have changed a lot, or even nearly been forgotten. It is bad for an old country's cultural continuity.

3:Protect the Chinese Traditional Festivals
(1) directly protect:the government set some policy to protect(use some example to describe whether it is quite useful or useless)
(2) indirectly protect:put the stories or detail information in school books, let the young people know more about Chinese traditional festivals;not need to work in these days, so you have free time to join the celebrations
(3) Others:learn the way to celebrate from western festivals(such as the Christmas sales and other ways )
C:Conclusion
1) the Chinese traditional festivals enrich the people life;it is an essential part of Chinese culture;
2) it has crisis and we should do something to protect it.
